MINOR

This year the Board have organised a 13-a-side league competition - a
new venture and we are looking forward to the challenge.
The panel is made of 5 girls from the Under 16, and 11/12 girls at
minor level..... as Jess and Sinead train with the Senior Panel and
the Under 16 girls train with their panel it is difficult to get time
together, however, despite this we have worked very hard and the girls
are a great group.
Our first match was against Brian Dillons and despite a great
performance we went down by the narrowest of margins a point and with
the final whistle being blown for full time when we were on the edge
of the square who knows????
The new format meant a fast paced and skilled match was played by both
teams with very little between them...., in the first half we
dominated and should probably have been further ahead but missed frees
and scoring opportunities meant we only led by 1-4 to 1gl.... all the
girls were working hard in all areas of the pitch and the new format
suited some players more than others.............
The second half Brian Dillons dominated and took the lead and despite
our best efforts we fell short, Ciara Riordan who was having her best
game to date but got a nasty hit to the knee and had to retire and
ended up with 5 stitches but no doubt after her little rest she will
be back flying again........ the game was fast and furious and both
teams committed to getting a result.......

McDonnell, Laura Barry (Captain), Fiona O Brien, Jess Hennigan and
Mairead O Dwyer, forwards Shannen O Brien, Sarah McCoy, Chloe
Hennigan, Sinead O Sullivan and Mia Cronin...
We introduced Lauren Cooper into the forward line and despite her
young age she did very well and her first touch set up our second
goal..... we also introduced Judy Murphy... We are lucky to have a
substitute goalie at this age in Leanne Doyle and we have new comer
Julia Dineen whom we hope to introduce during the course of the league
as both girls have been working hard at training.
Overall all girls did well and the new fast format suited some players
better than others but we now know what it is all about so we will
work hard again and will keep pushing hard to improve. Well done to
all the girls you did us proud.

Our next game is against Milford in Milford on SATURDAY 21ST APRIL @
6.45PM - we will be travelling leaving the Club at 4.45pm sharp....

WE ALSO HAD A GREAT TRAINING ADVENTURE AT THE GLEN RESOURCE CENTRE ON
SUNDAY 15TH APRIL - WE HAD A FANTASTIC ATTENDANCE OF 27
PLAYERS..................... THE GIRLS HAD A GREAT MORNING. The
tests of strength, courage, stamina, cuteness and character were
preformed with great aplomb and they were a pleasure to be
with............... A quick lunch and some of us returned for the
Annual Easter Hunt which was a fantastic event as always and had some
down time fun.....................

EASTER HUNT - FUNDRAISER

Hope you all had a good Easter - and ye have some room left for more
chocolate!!!

Our Annual Easter Hunt is this Sunday (15th April) in Ballincollig
GAA. It will start with an Orienteering Trail through the Powder
mills/ Regional Park - Watch out for our bunnies along the way who
might have some treats for you!!! On your return - there will be more
fun, with Bouncing Casters, games and more!!
This is a fun day for all the family - so tell all your friends and
family to join in the FUN!!

Under10

Had a busy weekend once again we traveled to blarney last Saturday
morning, with two teams of 20 players all eager to get started, on
the day Caoimhe Creedon was very strong and skillful in midfield Eimer
Conway was great up front and showed us what she's made off with some
great goals, Amy o Rourke was very strong and determined in protecting
our great goalie Erika o Leary, well done girls keep up the good work
and team spirt.

Our second team also did extremely well France Corkery was very strong
in midfield and made some great passes leading to Niamh o Riordan
scoring an excellent goal ,Tara Kirkhy work hard in protecting the
back line, and the goal of the day was scored by Chloe Bremmer ,well
done girls once again great team work.

LOST PROPERTY, CLUB GEAR & NEW PLAYERS

CONTAINER - LOST PROPERTY
We have lots of Jumpers/ Coats in our container that were left on
pitches after training over last few months - If you think yours is
there, please ask trainer at the end of your next training session. At
the end of month, we will give any Jumpers/ Jackets leftover to
Charity.

CLUB GEAR
Any new gear can be ordered with John McAvoy on Sunday mornings - John
will be available at Container during training times only.

NEW PLAYERS
The Camogie club is always open for new players and any ex-members
looking to re-join. Training is Sunday mornings at 12.15pm - 1.15pm.
Please ensure girls have football Boots, and shin Guards, Helmet and
Hurley (Hurley's available to buy at training) - Please bring drink of
water also. Looking forward to seeing New Faces!!

UNDER 12

There will no Training this Sunday morning, so the girls can come
along to our Easter Hunt.

We had our first U12 Blitz last Saturday in Eire Og - we played Eire
Og, Rockban and Grenagh - The girls played great in all three matches
- and by the third match, all girls were confidently showing all their
camogie skills on the pitch - Keep it up girls. We have 2 more Blitzes
before our league starts in May.
Our Under 12's have a Blitz this Saturday in Blarney - Girls have been
contacted during week with full details so Best of Luck to ye!

We are currently trying to organize a few challenge matches for our
u11'S - more details to follow next week. The U11 league also starts
in May so we have a busy few months ahead of us.
