JUNIOR B

This panel of players are in their 3rd week of indoor training, the
going is very tough - but we are structuring the workouts on fitness
and core work.... the girls are giving 100% and we are watching them
get back into gear and there are still smiling faces at the end of
each hard session.
The indoor training sessions at present are in Farranferris on Fridays
from 7pm to 8pm..... but all junior players are welcome to attend
Wednesdays and do a workout.....
Our first outdoor session was Sunday and a hardy group of players were
on hand to give Ballinlough an excellent workout..... Many aches and
pains at the moment but we are hopeful that they will all be worth it
come September/October......
Training: Fridays 7pm - 8pm in Farranferris
Sunday 10.30am - 10.30am - Ballinlough.
If you don't have a spin contact Louise or Mairead and we will arrange
transport for you.
JUNIOR MANAGEMENT: Mairead Donovan (Manager) Kieran Ryan/Linda Dorgan

UNDER 18

This is a small panel with only 13/14 players between 17 & 18
available to us and we are delighted to welcome some of the Under 16
members (by kind consent of their management team) to our training
panel, again at each session we are working very hard on fitness and
core and the girls are giving it their all, with many of them doing
their bit at home in between..... This is quite new to many of the
girls but overall a very worthwhile project......
At the moment Wednesday is the designated training night but some
members are coming on a Friday - so whichever suits will be fine once
you make at least one session during the week. And as agreed with the
Senior Management all Minor players will attend this session as it is
their core age group.....

Training for all Under 18 Panel members: - Wednesday 7pm - 8pm
Farranferris or Friday by agreement.

Congratulations to Jess Hennigan who is a training member of the Cork
Minor Panel for 2012, we had a number of girls who went for trails and
they all did very well but we only managed to get one member on the
training panel......

The Minor Captain for 2012 is Laura Barry and Vice-Captain is Mia
Cronin - the girls give outstanding commitment to the club at both
minor and junior... we wish them both every success.
MINOR MANAGEMENT: Mairead Donovan (Manager), Kieran Ryan (Coach) &
Claire Donovan (Selector)
We haven't seen everyone back yet at the junior and minor sessions but
the tx messages are still being sent so hopefully we will see you
soon.

Ballincollig during February.
Mentors; Dave Collins, Garret Irish, Pat Murphy, and Martin Sisk.

UNDER 18

The mentors met the players and parents on Monday 9th January and went
through the upcoming training programme, their expectations and hopes
for the panel. This year the girls will revert to training with the
junior panel and one day a week (for the present) will be joined by
the Under 16 girls interested in playing minor. The panel is very
tight with only 14 girls between the ages of 17 & 18; however, with
the talent available from the Under 16 panel and a lot of hard work
and a good attitude to training we are looking forward to the coming
year.
Again the girls will start indoor training in FARRANFERRIS on
Wednesday 18th January - cost of session: €25.00 per head.
Mentors: Kieran Ryan, Mairead Donovan & Claire Donovan - contact 0872846310.

JUNIOR B CAMOGIE

This group of girls will get back to training on FRIDAY 13TH @ 7pm in
Farran ferris, we have arranged gym facilities for the next 6/8 weeks
and are looking forward to seeing the panel back together. Cost of
Sessions: €25 per head
The girls came very close last year in reaching 2 County Semi Finals
and a Munster League Final.... but that is now in the past so we are
off to a new season, a new training agenda and we are looking forward
getting back on field of play.

Indoor Training started again last week the 13 of Jan for the following Age groups

U10 Training Ballincollig Community School,
It was great to see such an enthusiastic bunch of girls back at
training last Friday night. Mossy and the gang got these great girls
going again after the Christmas break. Indoor training will continue
every Friday night from 8 - 9PM for the next five weeks. It's going to
be a busy, eventful and fun year for all the girls in the U10 squad
this year.

U12's Ballincollig Community School
Friday's 6pm –7pm (Frank/Linda)

U14's Ballincollig Community School
Friday's 7pm – 8pm (Philip/Laura) note change of day/venue.
Manager: Philip O'Sullivan
Mentors: Aoife Cotter and Laura O'Leary
We are back training indoors, now in BCS, on Friday nights 7pm to 8pm.
Helmets and shin-guards are a must!
The indoor training is a great facility to our team, and not just
because we're not out on Sunday's mornings in the cold just yet!!!
There is a great tool on www.camogie.ie which looks at the Player
Pathway, the stages of development which each age group should be
involved in. The Player Pathway for 12 to 14 year olds focuses on
technical capabilities, tactical capabilities, physical capabilities,
mental capabilities, lifestyle capabilities and personal capabilities.
The Under 14 indoor training program involves different aspects of
each of the capabilities and will stand to us in our 2012 venture.
Well done to the girls on completing their second post Christmas
training. We've done circuit work, with Aoife and Philip adding in a
few tough stations. We had a great relay race, and the girls showed
that when it comes to a bit of friendly competition, each and every
one of them means business.
Girls don't forget your water and please tie those runners up properly!!!

A THANK YOU FROM MAIREAD DONOVAN - RETIRING CHAIRMAN IN DECEMBER 2011

On a personal note I would like to thank everyone for their support of
the Club and myself as an officer over the past 20+ years..... The
Club over the last number of years has grown and developed beyond many
people's dreams....
Today we are competing at
Senior
Junior B
Under 18/Minor
Under 16
Under 14
Under 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8
We also compete in Muskerry at Under 15 / Under 13 and Under 11.
We are represented by club players on all the County teams and we have
representatives on the Juvenile and Senior Boards.
We are very proud of all our players from Under 6 to Adult, we
appreciate the time they give to Camogie with training, matches,
social activities and fundraising events......
We are extremely fortunate with the mentors involved in the many teams
- the hours of work both on and off the field is evident on how well
all the teams are prepared for their competitions and under age
blitzes....
I cannot thank them enough for their efforts, hard work and passion
for the Club.
It has been an honour to work with my fellow officers and committee
members. Each officer brings a special gift to the committee and all
work very hard behind the scenes which enable the club to function so
efficiently.
To our Club sponsor the Down Family of Downs Supervalu a huge thank
you - you have been with us for the past 10 years and we look forward
to many more years.
My heartfelt thanks to the parents for their never ending support; to
the people of Ballincollig for your financial support of our various
fundraising ventures over the years; and most of all to our fantastic
players who continue to play camogie and give us many enjoyable days
at matches.
