Last Saturday our U9;'s travelled out to Brinny to play Valley Rovers
on what was a dark day but thankfully the rain held off and the large
support as well as the players stayed dry. In what was a very tough
game these girls played their hearts out with some outstanding
performances all over the pitch. Grace Cooke stopped nearly every shot
fired in on her while she played in goal. In defence Aoife, Abbey and
Miriam tackled like demons with Miriam clearing balls nearly the
length of the pitch a number of times. Siobhain McAvoy despite getting
a bang on the foot played on in midfield, while Orlaith and Lauren
marshalled the area very well throughout the game. Alanah our newest
addition played like a girl who had been involved in camogie all her
life. Up front Erika, Frances and Molly combined coming very close to
scoring on a number of occasions. All the girls were truly worn out
the end of the day after the big effort put in by everyone. Well done
to all the girls that took part. Remember training continues on
Sundays at 12.15.
