EASTER HUNT

On Sunday the 15th, Ballincollig Camogie Club hosted an Easter Hunt
for all the players, parents, and friends of the club. The event took
place in the Powder mills/Regional Park and great fun was had by all.
Visitors to the park that day would have seen kids and adults of all
ages walking and running through the forest with maps in hand
searching for little orange and white markers scattered throughout the
park. An even stranger site of three grown adults wearing bunny suits
was met with more than a few strange looks from people out having
their Sunday walk.
The idea behind the event was to have fun and get a bit of exercise,
although there were sightings of a parent or two who thought that
there was a water element to the event as they waded through streams
with trousers rolled up. We don't know if they were serious
competitors or just completely lost but most of us reckon it was the
latter.
Prizes were given out for the best times for the event with random
prizes for those who took part – we're sure the reappearance of Easter
eggs in big hampers in people's houses was met with smiles from the
kids.
There were two courses to be followed (and none of them required a
swim!!) and the winners were
Long course 1st. The Healy Clan 2nd. O'Grady's
Short course 1st. Alan Donovan Joint 2nd. O'Keeffe's and Doherty's
Draw Dwyer/ Lee
All the winners were given an Easter Egg Hamper – Sponsored by Down's
Super Value (A Huge Thank you to Barry & Helen Down who kindly sponsor
this Event each year.)
Prizes were also awarded for our colouring competition with several
kids leaving holding tightly on to their chocolate bunnies.
Bouncy castles and games followed the Easter hunt, so for those who
missed it this year, make a date in your diary for next year

Thank you to all who helped out on the day and a special thank you to
Liam Barry who gets involved in this event with us every year!
