Ballincollig Vs Ballyhea
We played our first league match against Ballyhea on Wednesday the
4th. 18 girls travelled to Ballyhea and throw-in was 6.30pm. The final
score was Ballyhea 2-2 Ballincollig 0-2.
Megan our captain for the day played a stormer in goal. Blocking shots
from all angles and hitting the puck outs wide in the corners, we
couldn't have asked for more.
Aoife, Sarah, Ruth and Katie played very well in the full back line.
Ballyhea put this line to the test, running straight at them, but this
line stood their ground and showed their strengths.
Alex, Lauren and Rachel had a great day in the half back line, marking
was tight. Alex and Rachel showed their great side line cuts and
Lauren was up and down the field all day, any where she was needed she
was there! Well done girls.
Marley and Clodagh worked hard in mid field, both girls gave it their
all, and supported all their team mates, clearing from the back line
and making some great passes to the forwards. Keep it up girls.
Orla, Emma and Oliva played well in the half forward line. This was a
busy line with the girls attacking and defending throughout the match.
The girls battled hard for the 60 minutes. Keep it up girls!
Fiona, Kerry, Amy, Shona and Eimear had a very good match in the full
forward line, although it was quite, once the ball was up there all
the showed off their first touch and headed for goal, we had some very
close attempts, but we were unlucky on the day not to get goals. Don't
worry girls we will keep working in training and we will get it. Well
done!!
