First match was at home to Ballygarvan and the girls got off to a
strong start. Both clubs have Senior Teams so were fielding second
teams in the Junior Grade. It was a strong performance and
Ballincollig led for the match.
We had some excellent scores from Orlaith J, Aoife O Neill, Claire
Ryan, Edel, Chloe and Emer Nolan... show a new depth in the side for
scoring.... The defence was strong overall but for 10 minutes in the
second half conceded 2-2 but finished very srongly. The hard work in
preparing for the league showed but as always there is room for
improvement in areas of the game so that will be for the training
field.
Team Aisling H, Meabh Mc Manaman, Lourise Weste (Captain), Sinead
Barry, Nicola Young, Laura Driscoll, , Emer Nolan, Mia Cronin, Laura
Barrett, Chloe Hennigan, Edel Murphy, and full forward line of Claire
Ryan, Orlaigh Jennings & AOife O Neill... Subs on the night Catriona
Ni Chathasaigh, Ciara O Riordan and Sarah McCoy..... Also available
for selection were Ciara O Sullivan, Shannen O Brien,Lisa O Callaghan
and Alex Lynch
Our second match was again at home on Friday 13th but thankfully we
had no bad luck on the night - this time we were playing Courcey
Rovers, agian Courceys have a senior team.
This match was played on pitch 1 which was in immaculate condition and
a great match was played.
The line out differed so
Aisling Hen in goal, full back line Meabh, Louise and Sinead B,
Nicola, Laura D and Ciara Riordan, midfield pairing of Mia Cronin &
Sarah McCoy, Half forwards Catriona, Edel and Chloe and full forward
line Claire Ryan, Orlaigh J and Laura Barrett.....
The team started and finished very strongly, their overall play was
improved on the first league match and we proved too strong on the
night for Courceys who had a very young team. Our scores coming from
Claire Ryan, Orlaith Jennings, Edel Murphy... the scores were set up
by excellent forward play from Catriona Chloe and Laura B. We
introduced Emma Donovan, Lisa O Callaghan, Rachel Nevin, Laura O
Donoghue and Jenny Cotter in the second half and again this ensured we
stayed on top in all areas. Our goalie and defence worked hard for
the hour and conceded 6 scores, our midfield ran themselves into the
ground and controlled the area, and our forwards put in massive team
work to secure 16 scores on the board.................
FIXTURES

Final league match AWAY TO BALLINASCARTHY - this match is not

As this is a very tight competition all matches have to be won to
secure a place in the final 2..... and with the increase in numbers
from 8 teams to 13 teams in the competition it is a much stronger and
interesting competition
