Annual Blitzes come to an end

We finished off our under age annual blitzes in style last weekend.
This week it was the turn of the U10's (all 24 of them). Again there
was tremendous entertainment and no shortage of camogie skills and
determination for the large crown in attendance to witness.
Ballincollig had two teams taking part along with teams from Eire Og,
Douglas, Inniscarra, St Fanahans, Ballinhassig and St Finbarrs. All
games were competitive and exciting with the crowd, mentors and
players all enjoying a great day.
Of course these blitzes can't happen without the hard work of a huge
team of people both on, around and off the pitch So here goes. Thanks
to our refs Fiona, Jess, Ciara, Mairead, Leanne, Johnny and Frank.
Thanks to the kitchen crew who constantly turn up with a wilingness to
help and serve the masses with a smile, the people involved are
Eileen, Breda, Liam Noreen, Conor, Mairead, Maria, Linda, Kathy, Mary,
Bridie May, Orla. Thanks to the bar staff in the GAA Club especially
Claire and Leah for all the help each Saturday we invaded the place.
Thanks to the mentors for coming down early to prepare pitches and to
tidy up everything after each Blitz. A special thanks has to go the
mentors and co ordinators for having the girls well trained in their
Camogie skills, for getting them to a level where they play the game
with skill, determination, and true sportsmanship.
Thanks to the parents for supplying us with loads of sambos, home made
cakes (especially Tracy's chocolate biscuit cake), and biccies. Thanks
for supporting your girls and their team mates. Finally a huge thanks
to all the girls that took part in the blitzes. You are a credit to
yourselves, your families, and the club. By my count that's about 90
people in all who make these wonderful days happens. Well done to you
all.

Check out the photo section on our website www.ballincolligcamogie.com
to get a flavour of the action on these great days. The smiles on the
girls faces tells the whole story.
