Our under 10 trainer Mossie O'Sullivan has bravely (or stupidly)
volunteered to run the Cork City Marathon to raise funds for
Ballincollig Camogie Club. For all parents and friends of the club,
please make sure to support Mossie and the club by buying lines from
our Camogie girls. The money is needed by the club to provide the
fantastic facilities that the girls use, so all donations are needed
to make sure the club can continue to provide the best for the girls.
Everyone buying a line can enter their guess for how long it takes
Mossie to complete the Marathon, and the nearest guess to his actual
time wins €200. This is Mossie's first marathon and he "claims" to
have run a 10km race in 50 minutes and 27 seconds. Remember when
guessing his time that the marathon isjust over40km (and his 10km time
is not confirmed by the Olympic Council of Ireland and is based on his
faulty stopwatch). You can see a picture of Mossie here running past
our club's sponsor Down's Supervalu. This is Mossie after about 10
seconds of running so don't based your estimate on how fit and
energetic he looks in the photo – he will look a lot different after
40km.
Please give generously, and the club members would like to thank
Mossie for the great effort he is making on all our behalf.
Under 14
Training went well on Sunday morning, a total of 15 players worked
hard. We worked on target practice and challenges. Our four usual
defenders were put to the test with each of the players taking tackles
against them. We were very impressed with everyone's work.
We have a league match against Killeagh and a full report will follow
next week. This will prove to be a tough match, as Killeagh always put
up a great game.
Girls, please try your best to fill your sponsor card, 'Mossy's
Marathon'. And bring it back as soon as you can. Make sure you get
people to guess the time Mossy will complete the marathon in, and they
might be lucky enough to win €200 for guessing the right time!!!
